In a little over three weeks, I’m ‘running’ the Snake River Island Hop. I initially signed up for the 100K, but a month or so into training I recognized than I need to stop running for a spell. Since then, I’ve been training to walk the race, and I’ll most likely drop after the 50K.
Never the less, I’ve been attempting to follow the 100K training plan. I’m a bit sheepish about this, but it just occurred to me that it’s nonsensical to follow a training plan for double the distance I intend to cover.
Thus, this weekend’s 30-mile workout is now a 15-mile one. That’s a bit of a relief, as I’m battling another cold (I believe I’m at the tail end of it, though).
